The Jordan High School Choirs have been selected not once but TWICE out of hundreds of choirs across Texas and the United States to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio in February and then in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in March. Prior to State and National Convention, don't miss our hometown concerts: Our first one is January 22 at St. Peter's UMC in Katy, next to Taylor HS, and our final one is February 3rd at St. Philip's in Houston. We have two world premier songs, Bollywood music choreographed by our own members, Dolly Parton covers, and beautiful choral music to please the ears! You won't want to miss this!

The Fine Arts department proudly presents the classic Broadway musical OKLAHOMA! January 29th at 7:00, 30th at 7:00, and 31st at 1:00 and 7:00. Over 100 of our theatre, choir, band, and orchestra students have worked together to produce the biggest musical that Jordan High School has ever seen. In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, contrasts with the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination, and the promise of a new land. Join us for the whimsical and nostalgic feel-good musical that changed the face of Broadway and musical theatre.

Legacies and Golden Line Dance Team tryouts are approaching, and interested students and families are encouraged to mark their calendars now. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on February 4 in the JHS Large Café, with Golden Line from 6–7 PM and Legacies from 7–9 PM. Golden Line applications are due February 6 through the SportsYou app, and a required tryout workshop with Melissa Robinson will take place February 19 from 5:00–6:30 PM in the JHS Dance Gym. Clinics will run March 3–5 (5:00–6:30 PM), with official tryouts on March 6 beginning at 5:00 PM. Golden Line candidates must also submit a video by March 6. Tryout skills include core technique such as splits, double pirouettes, jetés, calypso, and leaps, with advanced skills encouraged. More details are available at www.jordanlegaciesdanceteam.com.

Spanish Club will meet on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Profe Quintero’s classroom from 2:40–3:20 PM. T-shirts will be distributed.

The JHS Counseling Department will hold an Elective Fair and a Course Selection/Graduation Requirements presentation on January 28th. Elective Fair will be 5:30-6:30 PM in the large Cafeteria at JHS and the presentation will be from 6:30-7:30 PM in JHS PAC. Our elective fair contains information on CTE courses offered at JHS along with Fine Arts electives. We invite all incoming 9th grade students and their parents as well as any student that is new to JHS this past year.
